You go ahead and state that you have a dislike for Doctor Who as well as Torchwood, yet you admit fully that you’ve barely watched the show?!?!

Judging by the first full paragraph of your “Creative Writing Essay” shows that you’ve never really given the chance to Doctor Who that it actually deserves, yet you seem to want to bury it before even trying it. You went in half-pessimistically, knowing that you weren’t going to like it from the start, and that is why you never “Got it”

First off, Christopher Eccleston was (And yes I know I am stealing his line) FANTASTIC in Doctor Who. The only thing that lacked with his performance was more episodes, and David Tennant as his replacement, made the show even better!

And Billie Piper is wooden???? I’ll tell you the only thing wooden about Billie Piper is in my shorts, you palaverous jackanape! Billie made that show have a level of sex appeal that maybe it needed before, in the old series.

But of course. You love your Star Trek, with the ever brilliant female: Deanna Troi. If anyone wants to talk wooden, here’s a God-Damned forest! Troi was about as exciting as a box of Band-Aid brand Bandages.

Now don’t get me wrong. I am a fan of Star Trek, as well as Doctor Who and Torchwood. Trek has its place in Sci-Fi Fandom, but Who is just as important to the genre, I don’t care what you say.

You talk about production values, as if they’re more important than the acting itself. Well of course Hollywood shows are going to have better production value! They’re the hub of the entertainment industry, of course the best of the best is going to be there. That’s like complaining that Wichita, KS makes the worst Buffalo Wings! Of course you go to Buffalo to get them….

Now, your description of Torchwood being like a British version of Buffy, I think might be lacking. I am not so sure, I mean I never watched Buffy all that much. I never cared for it. But you won’t see me doing a future Forch’N Telling about how much I hated Buffy. I never gave it a chance. Now you might have one about me talking about how much I hate Sarah Michelle Gellar, but that might be once I run out of ideas.

Torchwood, like its parent show, Doctor Who, is well made, and well acted. So you don’t like John Barrowman’s performance as Captain Jack. Good for you. I happen to think that the character is written well, and delivered well in Barrowman’s performance. It’s a little cheesecake, I will give it that, but that’s what I feel was the intended idea.

Adam, you know what you’re missing? A small case of objectivity. Your failure to remain objective is why you are writing this article. Comparing DS9 to Doctor Who, is like comparing a Dodge Caravan to a Kia Rio. Both may have their hits and misses, but when it boils down to it, all they have in common is that they’re vehicles.

My Grandfather always said to me as a kid, Forch, he’d say. If you don’t allow yourself the opportunity to look at something objectively, and without a closed mind, well then you’re no better than that jackass over there, who’s too stupid to water his lawn.

There was a reason why Ol’ Rusty had the greenest lawn on the block…

Adam, I know you’re probably never going to listen to this. But I do respect you putting your opinion out there, because lord knows, I am doing the same thing with this diatribe, but the fact remains that you’re wrong for one major reason.

You disagree with the Forch….

But that’s just my opinion, what do I know???
